What a great year we have had! As we quickly slide into summer there is a slide that we would like to try to avoid. There are studies throughout the United States about the “Summer Learning Slide.” On average, students lose 1-2 months of grade level learning throughout the summer. However this “slide” can be avoided with time devoted to math and reading throughout the summer. As we get excited about summer travel, playing sports and some downtime, we urge you to devote a small amount of time each week to the incredible progress your child(ren) made this year at school. To that end, we encourage you to participate in our Summer Learning Incentive. Please refer to the chart and back side of this paper for incentive requirements for your child. Please refer to their incoming grade level for the 2016-17 school year.
