Universal Prekindergarten Program
Universal Pre-kindergarten (UPK) is a New York State funded program specifically designed for four-year-olds not eligible for kindergarten.UPK is a developmentally appropriate, learner-centered educational program to help four-year-olds develop physically, socially, emotionally, linguistically, culturally and intellectually. The program has a strong emphasis on early literacy and early numeracy to help prepare children for kindergarten.Basic eligibility requirements:
- must be a Clarence School District resident
- child must be 4 years old by December 1 of the school year
2017-18 School YearIf your child will be 4 years old by December 1, 2017 and wish to add him or her to the 17-18 waitlist, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:Child name:Address:DOB:Parent/Guardian name:Best contact phone number:2018-19 School YearFor students that will turn 4 years old by December 1, 2018, applications will be available March 5, 2018.You can pick them up at our Parent Info Night (March 5 at 6:00 pm) or complete the application online.They will be due by March 29, and the lottery will take place on April 9.If your child receives placement, the due date for acceptance or decline is April 25.
